First Environmental Laboratories, Inc. is an independent environmental laboratory accredited by Illinois EPA Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (IL ELAP).  We provide analytical services in accordance with current Illinois Environmental Regulations.

The regulation cited above requires that owners and operators of CCDD and uncontaminated soil fill operations are required to, “obtain for all soil:  certification from the owner or operator of the site of origin that the site has never been used for commercial or industrial purposes and is presumed to be uncontaminated soil; or certification from a licensed professional engineer that the soil is uncontaminated.”

We can provide the necessary testing as directed by professional engineer or representative of the owner or operator of the site of origin.  At this time, the EPA has not designated the specific analytical testing requirements.  “The appropriate test method and protocol will depend on the site and the suspected contaminants.”

Testing may include the following:   Volatiles, semivolatiles, pesticides, PCBs and metals.  Sample analysis will be completed within our routine turnaround time of 5-7 working days.  Expedited turnaround is available and should be coordinated in advance to ensure capacity.  Pricing is available on request.

If you do not have a certified Professional Engineer on staff, we can provide a list of engineers that we have worked with and who are familiar with the new regulations. Should you have any questions or need additional information, please contact us at (630) 778-1200.
